Why BerlinOne?
In the early 90s, I found myself standing before a piece of the Berlin Wall, displayed as a historical artifact. I was with friends, and a simple question came to mind: where was I when this wall fell?
In 1989, I was finishing my bachelor's degree. Very busy with my studies and work, I had neither the time nor real access to information to follow current events. And yet, I had no clear memory of this historic moment. This absence struck me.
Since then, I often ask myself the same question when faced with significant events: where was I? What was I doing? What was happening around me? Whether it's the fall of the Berlin Wall or Gilles Villeneuve's accident, I realized how much events take on a different meaning when you put them back in their context.
BerlinOne was born from this idea: to connect events together, place them in time, and allow everyone to better understand how their own story fits into a larger history.
